1. DC is blanketed under 40 inches of snow, and I've been sitting in my apartment for days on end.
2. I am constantly living vicariously through other people's well-documented adventures. Meanwhile, I am sitting on my couch or at my job, bored. I want to be on the other side of an adventure blog.
3. It has (only) recently occurred to me that the internet should be a two-way street. I can't just sit at Google Reader and absorb everything; I need to participate. Up until now I have been a lurker.
So here I go. I'll try not to be too colossally boring. I'll invest in a camera and maybe even use it. And I'll try to stay off the couch.
